Slither (2006) is a horror movie with plenty of humor. There is plenty of gore and scares as well, and the plot is not particularly inventive. An alien being crashes on earth and takes over people and multiplies.
It is not very clear why the alien merged with Grant, instead of taking over his body. The only reason is for plot, so that there is a connection between IT and Starla, there is more drama this way.
The performances are fine, girls scream a lot, and then all of a sudden they toughen up and kick some ass. The effects are average, enough to convey the gore and sense of disgust that this kind of movie requires.
The best thing about this movie is Nathan Fillion. I loved his performance as Mal Reynolds in Firefly/Serenity, and he once again proved that he is a very funny but cool lead. He has the best lines and delivers them perfectly.
Not exactly my kind of movie, but if you are into horror you might enjoy this. The humor is the only thing I enjoyed.
