bourne3The Bourne Ultimatum (2007): Bourne dodges new, superior assassins as he searches for his unknown past while a government agent tries to track him down.

This latest entry in the Bourne franchise is more focused on Bourne’s psyche and his past. Right from the start, he is remembering his programming by Dr. Hirsch (Albert Finney).

The first action in Waterloo Station is a masterpiece of coordination between the actors, the cameras, the director and the crew. There were so many elements at play here, and in the wrong hands it could have been a very confusing scene. Instead the action is very clear and it was great to watch.

Nicky is back again, this time hinting at something in the past between her and Bourne. I thought I knew where this was going, especially after the hair dieing scene that recalled the first movie. Instead they went in the opposite direction, making this an unpredictable and more enjoyable movie.

The chase/fight with Desh is another entry in the infamous "Bourne action scenes". These scenes have the same feeling, but they all feel fresh somehow.

I was surprised at how the ending to Supremacy was repeated here, but it all ties together very nicely. The final confrontation in the facility was emotional, and it shows us once and for all who is the new Bourne. He even repeats a line from the first movie, book ending this trilogy.

I loved the final shot of him swimming off into the black. This is probably my favorite of the trilogy, even though Marie is not in it. This is definitely the best modern action series.
