This is effectively the end of the first long arc of the series. The evil trinity have reached their goal and seems to have replaced the trinity. But the last page hints that what’s happened is not exactly what Morgaine planned, instead Enigma is happy about that.
Reality has changed, but how? Is it just the Trinity replaced by Morgaine and friends? Is Enigma bad or does he have his own goals? I am definitely interested in the rest, since it’s gonna be definitely different. Change is always good, and this series has reached the perfect point to do that.
The backup story sees the return of Konvikt and Graak, this time we see more about Konvikt’s past. It’s not very exciting I must say, especially with what’s going on in the main story, but I am sure this will pay off.
I went back and re-read the first issue, especially the backup issue. The first time I read it I was completely confused, so I just forgot everything. However now it’s much clearer to me and I don’t even understand why I was so confused. Morgaine looks through time and we get little snippets of things to come. Some we’ve already seen, like the Tarot scene. Others will show up eventually, like the scene with Konvikt meeting Enigma and Morgaine, as well as the scene with Green Arrow in the changed reality. We also see a photo of Lois, which we see again in this issue.
I like that Busiek has this planned out in detail, and I have complete confidence in his story telling abilities.
