Baby Mama

This was a fun movie to watch with my wife, but I wouldn’t recommend this to everyone, especially single men.

The star of the movie is definitely Tina Fey, she is charming and funny and we root for her. But her character still has faults, but we smile and understand them. I was not familiar with Tina Fey at all, but I immediately felt like I knew her and was comfortable with her.

The real surprise of the movie was Amy Poehler. At first her character Angie looks like the typical low brow girl who’s shallow and only cares about money. But as the story goes on we see her real nature, a girl who cares about people, someone who is good at heart and never wanted to hurt anyone. She’s also has the funniest scenes and lines.

Sigourney Weaver had a small surprising and fun role, something I just never expected from her. Steve Martin also has a very small role, his interaction with Tina Fey was funny. Greg Kinnear also has a small role, almost as the supporting boyfriend with not much personality.

In the end we get the usual happy ending, maybe even going too happy since they both have babies. And to almost counter that happiness, they writers decided to not get Angie and Carl together.
