This is a much more satisfying issue than the previous one. A lot of things were being built up since the start of this new world, now some of them have come to fruition. The major one in this issue is Carter Hall finally getting his own scroll.
He’s been stubborn in believing there was something wrong with the world, but now he knows the truth and he’s leading the heroes to solve the problem. I like that the one hero he needs to do that, Flash, doesn’t want to help him at all.
Meanwhile Morgaine and Enigma have conquered Europe, at the cost of all life. Enigma doesn’t really want that though, so he’s now at odds with his ally. Not sure why they take that gigantic form, but it looks cool.
The story ends with Alfred going to see Lois Lane.
The backup story takes place in space, and sees a fight between John Stewart (merged with Qward technology) and Despero. At the peak of their fight, Krona interferes and takes GL in hopes of starting a dialog with planets.
Despero ends up with Kanjar Ro, who in a desperate attempt at saving his own life (how pathetic) he shows Despero where the CSA is.
This arc is quickly reaching its conclusion, and I must say I am glad about it. I miss the trinity. It was good to leave them for a while, but I think it’s time they came back.
