After such a crazy season 4, this season seems tame in comparison. But there are still interesting things happening to the characters.
The Mala Noche thread is closed in the first episode of the season. Horatio seemed even more invincible in this episode. He’s alone in a foreign country against the local mob, but he still manages to kill lots of people, including his target, and come back unharmed. If he’s not Superman I don’t know who is. Plus he also has to deal with his brother Raymond and his family.
Another big thread is Delko’s injury. This is a serious injury whose consequences are seen for a very long time. On top of that there was also the law-suit, which was so unfair I wanted to punch the woman.
Meanwhile Calleigh’s love life is a bit more involved, now that Jake is part of the investigative team. Of course this is another knife into Delko’s back.
Natalia also has to deal with her ex-husband, whose murder she is accused of, involving Eric in it. Luckily all is fine.
This is also when Ryan loses his job, which gives us a long list of episodes where he’s just hanging out around the cases. A different direction for the character, which made me wonder if they were going to get rid of him next season.
As I said not a lot happens here, but enough to keep my interest.
