Each story takes up 2 issues, so we get 6 stories in this series. They are fun light stories, most times pitting the team against ridiculous monsters. But the members of the team are ridiculous themselves, even though they do kick ass.

This is not a parody, where the heroes lose all the time. No, our heroes are real heroes and they do save the day. In fact they look very cool, thanks to Immonen’s designs. He gets to create so many characters’ designs in this series, and they all look cool or intentionally funny. His action scenes are also great.

I think Ellis and Immonen strike a perfect balance between parody and straight superhero stories. This is a very rare type of comics, everybody should at least try it.
